Jessie Chua holds a Doctorate in Psychology (Clinical Psychology) from the United States of America. She is a licensed Psychologist in the State of California.
Trained in the USA, Jessie has extensive experience in various clinical settings, including psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, and assisted living facilities. She works well with children, teens, and adults presenting with a range of clinical issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, and severe psychotic disorders. Jessie is also trained in many psychometric tools that are used to establish accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.
In the therapy room, Jessie uses a combination of Psychodynamic theories and Cognitive Behavioral techniques to develop a deeper understanding of the presenting issues before working toward insight and symptom reduction. She is also experienced in conducting group therapy for issues ranging from symptom and stress management, medication compliancy, and suicide prevention.
As a passionate advocate of the mental health field, Jessie is often invited as a guest speaker at a local university to generate interest about the field of clinical psychology.
Jessie speaks English, Mandarin, and the Hokkien dialect.
